Through examination of my own artwork I understand painting as an outcome of movement,
and a collection of motions through time. The motion is inherent to my body, ultimately my
work is a unity, it is an accounting of anything and everything I am. This seeking of unity is also in
every moment of my process, it is the integrating element that gives rise to artwork; each step is
metaphorical and actual. A brush stroke.
The concept that something can effect anything, and vice versa, is a consistent rule in all my
work. I build my artwork with objects found throughout our civilization, and use them to
construct meaning about itself. My painting is applied simply with the intention to move away
from an institution of technique that its purpose is to reach a sense of ease. A beautiful
picture built from disregarded artifacts of civilization, repurposed refuse emphasizing the
importance of beauty that could come from the strangest of places.
